QR READER APPS

I-NIGMA
It is sooooo easy to read a qr code. You just need a device with a camera and a code reader app. Open the app, it will scan the code using your camera and ask if you would like to open the website, contact, video or anything you've made the code connect to.

OPEN HOUSE

ASK PARENTS TO DOWNLOAD A READER IN ADVANCE
Then you would have parents download a QR Code Reader in advance. I like I-nigma,
http://www.i-nigma.com

Dear Parents, please download a QR code reader to your smartphone before Open House so that you can see some of the awesome digital work your kiddo has done. I've included a link to a FREE one that works on all platforms:
I-nigma is a QR code reader, for all platforms including iOS, Windows and Android phones.

MORE IDEAS

Tony Vincent prints QRs as stickers

Create computer generated audio messages:

Audio

Have students record messages for Open House
There are many ways to record and upload audio. One that is super simple is croak.it
It is an iPad, Android or web app.
http://croak.it/

Once the recording has been uploaded, paste the url into a qr code maker like http://goqr.me/
and download and print the code.

Video on Vimeo

QR codes are great for getting to student videos.
QR codes are a great way to share videos that students have created. I like to use Vimeo to upload videos. Again, once you have the url, it's easy to paste it in and make a qr code. Here is my video on vimeo on how to make a qr code:
