2. Germany restarted the use of unrestricted submarine warfare because Germany's wartime leader became desperate due to the fact that he wanted to destroy the British blockade of the Central Powers and wanted to destroy their economy as well.

3. The spread of World War I began with the assassination of Franz Ferdinand. This sparked the war between Austria-Hungary and Serbia. During their war, the intervention of Russia was looming over their heads. Soon both Russia and Germany, both joined the war. Over the next four years, the war grew to involve Japan and the United States after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, the Middle East and Italy, along with many other countries.

4. The idea of a home front spurred from the realization that the war was no longer just about strong armies, it was about strong economies and strong people supporting the country while the military was at war. The war became total as it shifted from a purely violent fight, but instead a fight between entire societies.

5. Women made shells during the war and were exposed to several dangers in the process of making the shells such as explosions, many women died from these incidents. Another danger exposed was working with TNT explosives. Exposure to TNT caused severe poisoning depending of the length of the exposure.

6. Different types of propaganda that were used during World War I included posters, political cartoons, fabrication of battle facts (number of deaths, what actually happened, etc.), music, postcards, and emotional tactics.
