WHAT IS IT?

  • Autism is a genetic disorder that affects brain development.
  • These disorders are characterized in different ways (listed below)
  • Social interaction, verbal and nonverbal communication, and repetitive behaviors.
  • Mothers exposed to too much air pollution and pesticides 
  • Mothers exposed to too much air pollution and pesticides are at more risk 
  • Mothers exposed to too much air pollution and high levels of pesticidesay

WHAT CAUSES AUTISM?

  • There is not one cause of autism just as there's not one type of autism.
  • Most cases are caused by a combination of autism risk genes and environmental factors.
  • Mothers exposed to high levels of pesticides and air pollution 
  • There are a number of rare gene changes, or mutations, associated with it.
  • Researchers have identified over 100 autism risk genes.

What are the Symptoms?

  • The signs and symptoms vary widely.
  • Every child on the spectrum has issues at a certain degree in each area:
  • Communication, Relating to others/ Environment, Thinking/behaving flexibly.
  • Basically, just watch your child and monitor their behavior.
