If you've ever been to a club (which I hope you haven't), you probably have seen someone high on ketamine! Creepy right? But we'll get into that later.

WHAT IS KETAMINE

  • Ketamine is a general anesthetic that is categorized as a hallucinogen
  • It changes your perception of thinking, time, emotions, seeing, or hearing
  • Ketamine was discovered by Dr. Cal Stevens of Wayne University in 1961
  • Fun Fact: Ketamine is sold over-the-counter in Mexico and India as a pain-killer
Ketamine is considered a hallucinogen because it causes you to "trip"

In 1970 ketamine was determined safe for human consumption and then was used during the Vietnam war.

HOW IS IT USED?

  • One way it is used is by injecting a clear liquid into your muscle
  • Another way ketamine is used is by snorting a white powder form
  • Ketamine can also be used by smoking it with marijuana or tobacco

1. The clear liquid is the pharmaceutical way it is used.

3. Smoking ketamine with weed or tobacco is very rare though

3. It takes only a few minutes for ketamine to begin to effect a person

WHAT DOES IT DO TO YOU

  • Ketamine makes you feel distant from the world
  • Ketamine also makes it so you feel no pain
  • It causes a "trip" that can last from 30 min to several hours
It makes you feel distant by blocking your neurotransmitter glutamate, which transmits your memory signals. It also can make you feel like you're unable to move.

This is why it is used as an anesthetic, but when it is used for medical reasons it is mixed with another drug so you don't hallucinate.

This "trip" causes hallucinations and changes the way you see and hear things.

THE RISKS

  • Serious Bladder Problems
  • Damage of the liver
  • Damage to your veins
  • Ketamine can cause abscesses and blood clots
  • It can also cause insomnia
Ketamine goes into your urine and causes your bladder to be inflamed, it also takes off the lining of your bladder as if it had been burned. And when it tries to heal it just ends up scarring and shrinking itself.

Never share needles because that can spread hepatitis b and c and also HIV

Insomnia is the inability to sleep.

Some other problems are elevated blood pressure, seizure like muscle contractions, nausea, severe anxiety, and psychotic episodes.

THE LAW

  • It is illegal to personally own ketamine
  • You can't buy or sell it
  • Just like driving drunk, you cannot drive high
If you have possession of ketamine you can get up to five years in prison and a fine.

If you sell ketamine you can get 14 years in prison and a fine also.

Driving while high can get your drivers license taken away, you can be heavily fined, or even go to jail.

HOW TO MAKE POWDERED KETAMINE

  • Evaporate the pharmaceutical form of ketamine
  • Take the crystals that are left and crush them
  • Now you have powdered ketamine 👍
To evaporate ketamine people usually use hot plates, microwave ovens, or warming trays

TREATMENTS

  • Treatment depends on the age, gender, and length of abuse
  • Some tretment options are: group therapy, individual therapy,
  • A 12 step program, relapse-prevention instruction
  • Medication managment, and sometimes even hypnotherapy
  • You can find many rehab centers in ND on "treatment-facilities.findthebest.com"
The treatment also depends on how bad their drug problem is and if the abuser has and co-occurring disorder

Relapse-prevention is stopping the abuser from going back to using the drug. Hypnotherapy is therapy by using hypnosis.
