TIPS TO AVOID MISTAKES

A copyright is the exclusive right that authors and inventors have over their own work for limited times.

That means, you may not post or copy or redistribute any written materials, photos, videos, or the like without the owner's permission.

Simply put, plagiarism is taking the work of someone else and calling it yours.
It's not just cheating;
it's stealing.

Plagiarism comes in many forms:

  • Simply copying another's work
  • Having someone else write your work
  • Stealing another's work and calling it your own
  • Collusion, or the popular "group work."
  • Incorrectly citing sources

Consequences

  • Failing the assignment or class
  • Suspension from school
  • Expulsion from school
  • Recorded on your record
  • Lose a job
