PRESENTATION OUTLINE
ORGANELLE ASSIGNMENT (CELLS AS A SCHOOL)
Cell membrane
For the cell membrane, I chose the security guard of the school. This is because the cell membrane protects the cell, and controls what comes and goes out of the cell.
Cytoplasm
For the cytoplasm, I chose it to be the students. This is because like the students in a school, the cytoplasm is what fills the cell.
Nucleus
In the school system, the nucleus would be the principle. This is because the nucleus controls everything that happens in the cell, and holds the DNA, like how the principle controls what's going on in the school, and hold fills on students.
Nucleolus
A nucleolus would be a teacher. This is because a teacher teaches student to become working people, like how a nucleolus makes organelles for making proteins.
Cytoskeleton
The cytoskeleton would be the counselor. This is because a counselor supports and keeps the school system together, making sure everyone gets along. This is like a cytoskeleton because the cytoskeleton supports the cell and keeps it functioning
Smooth ER
Smooth ER would be a janitor. This is because it removes waste and breaks down food like how a janitor removes waste.
Rough ER
For rough ER, I chose the cooks in the cafeteria. This is because rough ER makes proteins for the cell, like the cooks makes food for the students and faculty.
Ribosome
A ribosome would be a computer. This is because a ribosome produces proteins for the cell, like a computer could produce learning opportunities for the students.
Golgi apparatus
The Golgi apparatus would be the company that supplies and delivers text books to the school. This is because like the company that supplies books, the Golgi apparatus processes, sorts, and delivers proteins.
Vesicle
The vesicle would be the school bus. This is because a school bus transports students to a school, like a vesicle transports materials to the cell
Mitochondria
The mitochondria would be the cafeteria. This is because the food in the cafeteria supplies energy for the students, like how the mitochondria supplies energy for the cell.
Vacuole
The vacuole in the school system would be a storage closet, or cabinets.this is because a vacuole is where the cell stores proteins, food, and waste.
Lysosomes
The lysosome would be the electrical system. This is because the system holds all of the energy, how lysosomes hold all the enzymes.
Centriole
The centriole would be the teachers. This is because teachers help us when we are stuck on a problem, like how a centriole helps move chromosomes during cell division.
Cell wall
The cell wall would be the school building. This is because a school provides structure and supports the system, like how the cell wall structures and supports the cell.
Chloroplasts
Chloroplasts would be the solar panels that many schools have. This is because they both transfer sunlight into energy.
Centrosomes
Centrosomes would be the cafeteria. This is because the cafeteria produces food, like how centrosomes produce microtubules.
