WHERE IT TOOK PLACE

  • The Battle of Britain took place over the English skies. The battle was fought by sky with airforce between Germany and Britain.

WHO WAS INVOLVED

  • Germany and Britain were involved in the battle. Hitler at the time wanted to take over Great Britain but Britain stood in there way.

LEADERS

  • The Battle of Britain was between the leaders Heerman Göring for the Germans and the leader of Britain Sir Hugh Dowding

BACKROUND INFO

  • The Battle of Britain AKA Operation SeaLion was only faught over sea with airforce.
  • 1733 German aircraft destroyed.
  • 915 Britain aircraft destroyed
  • The main aircraft used was the Hurricane, Spitfire, & BF 109.

  • The German Air Force was called Luftwaffe.
  • Britain had thought about bringing people to America for safety.
  • The battle was daughter not only over the sea but over Britain.

WHAT THE BATTLE WAS LIKE

  • The battle took place over the English sky's being a full Air Force fight in air. The battle had been unfair knowing that Great Britain had one of the best air forces at the time, and that's why they won.
  • It was 4 months long

REASONS FOR WAR

  • While the taking over Great Britain was going on Hitler needed to defeat Britain because Britain was in there way of taking over. So because of that Germany decided to attack them in an mid-air fight.
