PRESENTATION OUTLINE
Túrnense tú y un(a) compañero(a) para entrevistarse
sobre qué van a hacer este año para que sea el mejor año del colegio. Escribe la entrevista.
Objetivo: Resumiré los pronombres.
1. In Spanish, as in English, the subject (sujeto) of a verb does the action and the object (complemento) of a verb receives the action.
María llama a Juan.
Alberto lleva una mochila.
2. Spanish speakers don’t often use subject pronouns because the verb ending usually indicates the subject. However, the pronoun may be used to clarify or emphasize the subject.
Yo iré al concierto, no Paco.
¡Tú tienes que hacerlo!
3. Pronouns used after prepositions such as a, de, and para are known as objects of prepositions. They have the same form as subject pronouns, except for mí and ti, which are used instead of yo and tú. These pronouns join con to form conmigo and contigo.
Carlos me habló de usted.
Tienes un regalo para mí?
4. Direct objects receive the action of the verb. Indirect objects usually stand for people who receive the direct object or who experience the action of the verb. Before lo(s) and la(s), le(s) changes to se.
Mi hermano compró un boleto extra y se lo regaló a su novia en vez de a mí. Me parece injusto.
Túrnense tú y un(a) compañero(a) para describir a las personas de tu colegio y adivinar a quién se describe. Usen pronombres en su descripción para no decir quién es.
Objetivo: Resumiré pronombres y adjetivos demostrativos.
1. To compare two unequal things, actions, or quantities, use the constructions más (+ noun/adjective/adverb +) que and menos (+ noun/adjective/adverb +) que.
Tengo más planes que Fernanda para este año.
Seremos menos perezosos que el año pasado.
Tú llegaste al colegio más tarde que Sara.
Berta nada más que nadie.
2. Use a form of the demonstrative adjective that agrees in gender and number with what the speaker is pointing out and shows how far
someone or something is in distance or in time.
¿Te gusta este centro recreativo?
Voy a hacer gimnasia con esas chicas que entraron.
¿Te acuerdas de aquel chico que trabajaba aquí?
3. You can also use a demonstrative pronoun with an accent mark on the
stressed syllable (éste, ése, aquél) to avoid repeating a noun. Use the
neutral forms (esto, eso, aquello) to refer to an idea or to something
that was said or done.
Ese diseño para el póster es mejor que aquél (aquel diseño).
Con un(a) compañero(a), comenta y compara varios libros, películas o programas de televisión que hayan leído o visto recientemente. Usen adjetivos o pronombres demostrativos para
describirlos, y compárenlos utilizando más que y menos que.
Resumiré la negación y las expresiones del tiempo.
