The annual wage for graphic designers was 44,150 in May 2012. The lowest 10% earned less than 26,250, and the top 10% earned more than 77,490.

Employment for graphic designers is projected to grow 7% from 2012 to 2022, which is slower than the average for all other occupations which is 11%.

Graphic designers generally work in studios where they have access to drafting tables, computers, and the necessary software to create their own designs. About 24% of graphic designers were self-employed in 2012. Graphic designers who are self-employed may need to adjust their work schedule to meet clients, look for new projects, or compete with other graphic designers for contracts. Many graphic designers need to keep up with the latest technology to remain competitive.

Why graphic design you may ask? I chose this occupation because I always love creating art on a constant basis and it has been a part of me for as long as I can remember.
