INVENTIONS OF THE RENAISSANCE

By:Eric Tuttle

The Clock
The Renaissance clock was a pocket watch invented by Filippo Brunelleschi in 1410. The first clock was a clock tower invented by a Buddhist monk in China by the name of Su Song in 1094. The pocket watch helped people keep track of time where ever they were from in some random room to the middle of an ocean.

The Flush Toilet
The flush toilet was invented by an Englishman by the name of John Harrington in 1559. The flush toilet helped people dispose of waste cleanly, quickly, and efficiently, diminishing disease, rats, bugs, smell and dirty streets.

The Submarine
The submarine was invented by Cornelius Van Drebbel in 1624. Even though Leonardo Da Vinci drew the designs Drebbel invented it. The submarine could carry 16 people (12 of which were oarsmen) but could only go 15 ft under water and could stay under for a few hours. The submarine was great for exploring the underwater world or sneaking up on your enemies.
