In Week One, students will earn ten points if they post twice to the #spr17storiesuwatch Slack
Five points for a complete original post before Thursday at 11:59 pm
Five points for responding to another student's original post before Sunday at 11:59 pm
The original post in Week One must be about a fictional television show or a fictional film
(Not a reality show, news show, or documentary film)
EXAMPLE
My name is Wende Morgaine Garrison and I love to watch the Harry Potter stories. My original post is about the first Harry Potter movie.
One of the things I love about this film is that Harry finds a place where he feels like he belongs. I am always looking for that kind of place too.
EXAMPLE
My name is Dylan Leeman. My comment post is Yes! Also that sense of belonging almost challenges the traditional definition of family, seeming to say that family can be created. Hogworts offers Harry a new family: new school clothes, quasi siblings, groups called houses, parental adults, holiday meals, even Christmas presents. Harry gets a second chance at belonging.
EXAMPLE
My name is Tarehna Wicker. My comment post is that I like the Harry Potter movies, too. What I love about the first movie is how each of the three main characters has some, but not all, of the skills needed to meet the challenges they face. Harry really needs Hermione and Ron, they aren't just sidekicks.
