  • The biggest pyramid is Khufu
  • The second biggest is Khafre
  • The smallest is Menkaure

WHAT THEY WERE BUILT OUT OF

  • Limestone
  • The original pyramids had gold capped tops
  • The pyramids were white limestone but it faded and started to crumbled so now it is tan and brown and very crumbled

Khufu

  • The base is 756 square feet
  • The volume is 91,227,778 ft cubed
  • It is 455 feet tall

The pyramid was built in honor of the King Khufu. He supposedly built the pyramid and named it after himself. But some people say that he did not build the pyramid by himself and that he and Hemiunu his nephew built Khufu the pyramid. It is the biggest pyramid at Giza.

KHAFRE

  • The base is 706 square feet
  • The volume is 78,084,118 cubed feet
  • It is 448 feet tall

The pyramid Khafre was built in honor of King Khafre. He was King Khufu's son. It is the second biggest pyramid at Giza.

MENKAURE

  • The base is 108.5 square feet
  • The volume is 8,305,409 feet cubed
  • It is 213 feet tall

The pyramid was built for the Pharaoh Menkaure. He died in 2504 BC. He was buried in the pyramid Menkaure.
