Royal Proclamation, 1763
- British wanted to bring peace and order to BNA
- Created a 'proclamation line' to separate the First Nations from the British colonists
- This line prevents British colonist from venturing into First Nations lands to the west.
- This pleases the First Nations people but NOT the British colonists.
- The colonist feel they have the right to colonize and settle on lands occupied by the native people.
