TREATMENT

  • Emergency treatment for stroke depends on whether you're having an ischemic stroke blocking an artery(the most common kind) or a hemorrhagic stroke that involves bleeding into the brain.

CAUSES

  • A stroke occurs when the blood supply to part of your brain is interrupted or reduced.

PROGNOSIS

  • The patient prognosis after an ischemic stroke is much more positive than after a hemorrhagic stroke.

DISEASE PREVENTION

  • Quitting smoking
  • Physical exercise
