HISTORY DOESN'T LIE

BY: CHRIS HOPKINS

Little Timmy and Johnny went to the Smithsonian

"This place is huge," said little Timmy.
"Yeah, it's open 364 days a year. They're only closed on Christmas!" said Johnny.

"Let's play a game. Who ever can go around and see the most stuff wins," said Johnny.

"Ok, one hour!" said little Timmy.

Little Timmy's mom said whoever won would get a special prize. When Little Timmy's mom said go, they both sprinted off around the museum.

Over the next hour, Little Timmy went around learning all he could.

Little Johnny learned and saw all he could about the Smithsonian. He learned that over 25 million people visit the museum each year!

On the other hand, Johnny figured he could just cheat his way to win. He decided to go the food court instead.

After about an hour, both boys started heading back to where they met.

When they both met back up together, Little Timmy's mom asked what they had learned.

Little Timmy told all about the facts and displays he had seen. He said, " I learned the Smithsonian was founded in 1765. It is so cool!"

Even though Johnny didn't go see or learn anything, he still told Little Timmy's mom about all the things he had seen.

But how is that possible?!
He just went to eat!

Little Timmy's mom said that Johnny had won.
Little Timmy was so sad he had lost.

Turns out Johnny had just googled it all online!

Little Timmy's Mom thought something he said was very interesting. She asked if he would take them to it to see it.

Johnny didn't know what to say. "Uhhhh, ummm," he kept saying.

Timmy's mom asked Johnny, "You do know where it is; you saw it, didn't you?"

Johnny decided to tell them the truth. "I just googled everything. I went to eat instead."

Little Timmy's mom said, "You lied? That means Little Timmy gets the prize!"

In the end, Johnny learned that you might be able to lie to get ahead, but in the end, you never win.

"I'm sorry." Johnny said to Little Timmy's mom.
