1800 the French help Vietnam defeat the Tay Son Kings and got its name Vietnam
1850 France invades and takes control
1955 Vietnam splits into North and South Vietnam
1965- 75 U.S.A and Vietnam are at war

LANGUAGE
The official language of Vietnam is Vietnamese
Vietnam is the only country in Asia that speaks Vietnamese
The Vietnamese language is a language that every syllable is a word
Every word could have six differant meanings depending on how you pronounce it

DAILY LIFE
In the day you usually eat out, but dinner is enjoyed with your family at home
People usually were baggy pants and shirt (country)
People wear ether a dress with a slit in the side (women) or a gown (men)
(Urban) most people live in apartment blocks, others live in homes
(Country) people live in homes made of wooden beams and planks

RELIGION
Nearly 80.0% of Vietnam don't practice a religion
Buddhism, Confucianism, and Daoism are the three main beliefs
They are free to practice any religion they want
Usually people have an alter in there home wre they pray to the dead
There are no conflicts with these religion between people

SOCIAL GROUPS
The currency in Vietnam is dong
The manufacturing industry is the main way Vietnam makes its money
Broadcasting equipment, petroleum, footware, computers, and coffee (exports)
PatrPetroleum, telephones, intergrated circuts, hot rolled iorn, and rubberized fabric (imports)
United States gets imports and gives exports to Vietnam

GOVERNMENT
Vietnam is a Communist country (people are not allowed to make other parties)
The Vietnamese flag is yellow and red. Its a red flag with a yellow star in the middle
The red sybolizes revolution and blood.
The yellow represents the unity of peasants, workers, soldiers, and youths.
The flag was inspired by Vietnams communist party

ART
Vietnam is known for its decoritive wood work
They also have other significant art like weaving, wood block printing, and mosaics
