Who is?
Ancient Greek philosopher Aristotle was born circa 384 B C in Stagira a small town on the northern coast of Greece that was once a seaport

In 338 B C Aristotle went home to Macedonia to start tutoring King Phillip II’s son the then 13 year old Alexander the Great

What did he do?
He wrote about 200 treaties of which we have just reached 31 on a wide range of issues including logic metaphysics philosophy of science ethics political philosophy aesthetics rhetoric physics astronomy and biology

What did he discover?
the formulation of the principle of contradiction the notion of substance understood as subject and predicate understood as category and the analogy of being which are considered as the basis on which traditional philosophy of the West was built

He dies in
Halkida Evia, Greece 322 B C
