EXCRETION

  • Excretion- The act or process of discharging
  • waste matter from the blood, tissues, or organs.

PARTS IN THE EXCRETION

  • Excretion is the removal of waste products from the body. The organ
  • involved in the excretory process are the skin, kidneys, lungs, and liver.The
  • skin is an organ and part of the excretory process because it secretes sweat which
  • is a waste product. The kidneys are organs that are a part of the excretory process.

STRUCTURE AND FUNCTION OF A KIDNEY

  • The description of the structure and function of the kidney and its parts
  • begins with the part of the kidney. The kidney is comprised of 3 main parts,
  • the renal cortex, renal pelvis, and the medulla.

Nephron Functions

  • The nephron is the basic functional and structural unit of the kidney.
  • Its main function is to regulate the amount of water and soluble substances
  • by filtering the blood and reabsorbing what is needed

difference between filtration and reabsorption

  • Filtration basically cleans the blood from all the impurities caused by
  • different items that we eat and even pollution
