PRESENTATION OUTLINE

AUSLANDER

BY JACKSON J

Auslander is a new take on the Holocaust. Instead of showing us the hard life of the Jews we get a sneak peak at the luxury of the "perfect Aryans"

Peter Bruck (the main protagonist) is an orphan who's parents were killed in Warsaw Poland. With his blond hair and blue eyes a powerful German family adopts him.

Throughout the book we see Peter choose between helping the Jews and pleasing his new Nazi parents.

Deciding to help he gets caught and is forced to leave Germany and go to Switzerland.

Auslander is an interesting view into German society during WW2. This was the first Holocaust book I have read were the reader sees what it's like inside Berlin. If you need a book to kill time this is perfect.
