T is for traitor. Mildred could be looked at as a traitor. She was married to Montag yet she still decided to call the fire department on him. Most people would've protected their spouse and tried to help them.

U is for ugly. Throughout the story you start to see how ugly the society really is. Media takes away everyone's ability to think. As people become less and less unique, their personalities become more and more ugly. They are like flowers that are starting to die.

V is for violent. This story comes to a very violent closing. At the end Montag commits murder, there is a huge manhunt, and innocent man dies, a war starts, and the whole city is burned. Without this violence the story would be much more boring.

W is for war. There is a war that is going on. The war parallels Montags life throughout the story. For example, the war starts when Montag finally breaks completely away from society.

X is for xenophobic. Someone is xenophobic if they have an irrational fear of people who are different to them, such as strangers or foreigners. Mildred and others in this story are xenophobic. They don't like anyone who strays from society's set path. They want everyone to be basically the same.

Y is for yolk. Montag's life is like a hard-boiled egg. He was living life as the bland white part of the egg until Clarisse helped him get to the yolk. The yolk was good but the texture was rough. It was good that Montag started to think and be unique but he had a rough time getting through it. Furthermore, Montags life was like a yolk after he meet Clarrise.

Z is for Zebra. In this society people like Montag and Clarisse usually stuck out like a zebra on a horse farm. Zebras are the same shape of a horse but put a zebra and a horse next to each other and you'd be able to figure out which is which easily. Montag, Clarisse, and others questioning society, are like the Zebras and Mildred, and other people following society are like the horses.
