ORIGINS

  • It's believed that the Romans adopted writing characters from different cultures such as the Greeks and Etruscans.
  • It has constantly changed over the last 2500 years
  • The Roman alphabet has 21 of the 26 characters from the Etruscan alphabet
  • Even though most of the characters weren't made by Romans, they were the first culture who could put all of them toghether.

IMPACT ON THE ACTUAL WORLD

  • Nowdays,27 languages come from Latin and all of them use an alphabet based on it.
  • Roman alphabet is considered the most "standardized" alphabet in the world.
  • grammarly ,Italian is the most similar actual spoken language to Latin .
  • The Romans incorporated minuscules and majuscules .

SPREADING

  • As the Latin took it's spreading course along Europe, their alphabet got incorporated by other cultures
  • Aproximately, 100 countries speak languages that come from Latin
