First Day of School

Welcome to Ms.Brown's Fourth Grade Class

Welcome

  • Find your name on a desk
  • Place your backpack on the back of your chair
  • Begin working on the all about me name tent and learning inventory

Breakfast Procedures

  • I will come around to each table with breakfast
  • Eat quickly and quietly while we listen to announcements :)

School Supplies

  • I will call you by table to bring your school supplies to the back table.

Backpacks

  • Everyday when you come in, you will place your backpack in one of the bins by the door.
  • I will be calling you by table to bring your backpacks.

Pride Points

  • If you keep all of your pride points, you will get a ticket put in your pocket. The tickets will be used in a drawing for a prize every friday!

Pride Points Continued

  • If you lose three pride points, a note will be sent home. This note MUST be signed by a parent or you will lose recess the next day.

Pride Points Continued

  • If you lose all four pride points, I will be calling home and you will lose recess that day or the following day.

  • You can lose Pride Points in Ms. Bell's class as well.

Hand Signals

  • If you need your pencil sharpened, you will give me a thumbs up.
  • If you need to use the restroom, you will cross two fingers and hold them up in the air.
  • If you need to take an AR test, you will hold up 2 fingers.
  • If you need to go to the library you will hold up three fingers.

Voice Levels

  • Your voice level will be on the board everyday when you come in.
  • Level 0- No talking
  • Level 1- Spy Talk
  • Level 2- Conversation Voice
  • Level 3- Teacher Voice/ Outside Voice

How I will get your attention...

  • Class, Class
  • If you can hear my voice...
  • 123 eyes on me.

A great classmate activity...

  • Turn and talk to your table about what qualities a great classmate has.

People Bingo

  • WALK around the room and get people to sign their name in each box.
  • When you get every box signed, say "BINGO."

Seven Habits

  • Repeat the Seven Habits after me.
  • Turn and talk to your table about the characteristics of a great leader.

Hall Passes

  • IF you have permission to leave the classroom you will grab a hall pass on your way out the door.
  • You will hang it on the correct hook on your way back into the classroom.

Toilet Paper Game

  • I will passing around the toilet paper roll.
  • Take as many squares as you think you will need.

Colored Dots/Desk Bins

  • The colored dots on your desk will be used for different activities.
  • The bins on your desk will be used different ways.

Recess Expectations

  • Respect each other, no rough play.
  • Keep your hands to yourself.
  • Listen for directions, line up quickly and quietly when told to do so.

Lunchroom Expectations

  • Respect the workers and monitors.
  • Voice Level is ZERO
  • Clean up after yourself!

Hallway Expectations

  • Hands by your side, in your pockets, or crossed in front of you.
  • Level zero in the hallway. Always walk down the right side of the hall.

Tooth Paste Activity

  • Squeeze all of the toothpaste out of your tube and give me a thumbs up when you have finished.

Class Changes

  • You will be in my classroom for math and science.
  • You will be going to Ms. Bell for reading and Social Students.
  • If you lose a pride point in her class, you will not get it back.

Goals for this School Year activity.

  • Write one goal you have for this school year on the sticky note.

ALL ABOUT ME

  • We will share our name plates and our flags!

Dice Game

  • Roll a 1, tell your group your favorite TV show.
  • Roll a 2, tell your group your favorite food.
  • Roll a 3, tell your group something you did this summer.
  • Roll a 4, tell your group your favorite color.
  • Roll a 5, tell your group your favorite book.
  • Roll a 6, tell your group a hobby you enjoy.

Math

  • Complete the instructional Focus paper and we will go over it.
  • Complete the "Math about Me" activity.

Contracts

  • We will go over the behavior contract and sign it together.

Learning Inventories

  • Complete the learning inventories.
