MISSION STATEMENT

ISSUE ADDRESSED
- Feeding those who are unable to afford meals or cannot not get enough food for themselves or their families
HOW IT'S ADDRESSED
- Offering hospitality and a hearty meal for each person that comes in
- Breakfast, lunch, dinner- 3 days a week
- Over 27,000 meals served in the past year
POPULATION/NUMBERS
- More than 100 a day
- Over 2,000 meals per month
- Over time more than 600 day laborers are welcomed, whose pay can be as little as $35 for a 10 hr day
HISTORY
- Oldest soup kitchen in the city
- They are a sponsored ministry of the Province of St. John the Baptist of the Order of the Franciscans
REASON I CHOSE
- Focused on working to nourish and nurture body, mind and spirit in Over-the-Rhine.
- Good location
- Doesn't matter what day, many people come in each day to be served
LEVEL OF NEED
- Unloading donated items
- Serving food, meal preparation, washing dishes etc.
- Delivering bagged lunches
IMPACT OF WORK
- Serving those who live in the same area
- Not everyone can be as fortunate to have meals as everyday
