Leader - John shows Jesus as fully human and fully God. Although Jesus took upon himself full humanity and lived as a man, he never ceased to be the eternal God who has always existed, the Creator and Sustainer of all things, and the source of eternal life.
Continued…

This is the truth about Jesus, and the foundation of all truth. If we cannot or do not believe this basic truth, we will not have enough faith to trust our eternal destiny to him. That is why John wrote this Gospel—to build faith and confidence in Jesus Christ so that we may believe that he truly was and is the Son of God.

People - John 1:1-5 (NLT) In the beginning the Word already existed. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. He existed in the beginning with God. God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him. The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.

Leader - The Word was a term used by theologians and philosophers, both Jews and Greeks, in many different ways. In Hebrew Scripture, the Word was an agent of creation, the source of God's message to his people through the prophets, and God's law, his standard of holiness.

Continued…

In Greek philosophy, the Word was the principle of reason that governed the world, while in Hebrew thought, the Word was another expression for God. John's description shows clearly that he is speaking of Jesus, a human being he knew and loved, but at the same time the Creator of the universe, the ultimate revelation of God, the living picture of God's holiness, the one who "holds all creation together"

People - John 1:6-11 (NLT) God sent a man, John the Baptist, to tell about the light so that everyone might believe because of his testimony. John himself was not the light; he was simply a witness to tell about the light. The one who is the true light, who gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. He came into the very world he created, but the world didn’t recognize him. He came to his own people, and even they rejected him.

Leader - All who welcome Jesus Christ as Lord of their lives are reborn spiritually, receiving new life from God. Through faith in Christ, this new birth changes us from the inside out—rearranging our attitudes, desires, and motives. Have you asked Christ to make you a new person? This fresh start in life is available to all who believe in Christ.

People - John 1:12-14 (NLT) But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. They are reborn—not with a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan, but a birth that comes from God. So the Word became human and made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.

"Above All"

Above all powers, Above all kings,
Above all nature and all created things,
Above all wisdom and all the ways of man,
You were here before the world began.
Above all kingdoms, Above all thrones,
Above all wonders the world has ever known.
Above all wealth and treasures of the earth,
There's no way to measure what You're worth.

Crucified Laid behind the stone
You lived to die
Rejected and alone
Like a Rose
Trampled on the ground
You took the fall
And thought of me
Above all

Your love is amazing,
steady and unchanging
Your love is a mountain,
firm beneath my feet
Your love is a mystery,
how You gently lift me
When I am surrounded,
Your love carries me

I can feel it rising
All the joy that's growing

PASSING THE PEACE

Peace be with you! And also with you!

THE FLESH OF JESUS

In the beginning the Word already existed. He was with God, and he was God. He was in the beginning with God. He created everything there is. Nothing exists that he didn't make. Life itself was in him, and this life gives light to everyone. The light shines through the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it. – John 1:1-14

God sent John the Baptist to tell everyone about the light so that everyone might believe because of his testimony. John himself was not the light; he was only a witness to the light. The one who is the true light, who gives light to everyone, was going to come into the world. – John 1:1-14 (cont.)

But although the world was made through him, the world didn't recognize him when he came. Even in his own land and among his own people, he was not accepted. But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. – John 1:1-14 (cont.)

They are reborn! This is not a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan—this rebirth comes from God. So the Word became human and lived here on earth among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the only Son of the Father. – John 1:1-14 (cont.)

1. “I LOVE YOU”

1. “I LOVE YOU”

"Jesus looked at him and loved him"
– Mark 10:21

1. “I LOVE YOU”

Before the Passover celebration, Jesus knew that his hour had come to leave this world and return to his Father. He now showed the disciples the full extent of his love.
– John 13:1

1. “I LOVE YOU”

"I have loved you even as the Father has loved me. Remain in my love.”
– John 15:9

And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from his love. Death can't, and life can't. The angels can't, and the demons can't. Our fears for today, our worries about tomorrow, and even the powers of hell can't keep God's love away. Whether we are high above the sky or in the deepest ocean, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.
– Romans 8:38-39

2. “I WANT THE BEST FOR YOU”

2. “I WANT THE BEST FOR YOU”

Life itself was in him, and this life gives light to everyone.
– v. 4

2. “I WANT THE BEST FOR YOU”

But to all who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God. They are reborn! This is not a physical birth resulting from human passion or plan—this rebirth comes from God.
– John 1:12-13

3. “I AM WITH YOU”

the Word became human and lived here on earth among us.
– v. 14

Lord, I will lift mine eyes to the hills
Knowing my help is coming from You
Your peace, You give me in time of the storm
You are the source of my strength
You are the strength of my life
I lift my hands in total praise to you
You are the source of my strength
You are the strength of my life
I lift my hands in total praise to you
Amen
