PRESENTATION OUTLINE
What is it:Medicine is the field of applied science related to the art of healing by diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. It encompasses a variety of health care practices evolved to maintain and restore health by the prevention and treatment of illness in human beings.
North America: during the American revolution, men at the Valley Forge camp were dying from a disease called small pox. Then a vaccine or medicine was created to help prevent small pox. This could possible be what changed the out come of the American revolution.
South America:
Many people were dying in South Africa due to Malaria. There was no cure and no way to stop them from dying cruel deaths. Then a malaria vaccine and medicine was created saving and preventing lives of thousands. Now, the death rate of the area has decreased because of this.
Europe: diabetes was so bad in Europe and no one knew what to do about it. Then the medicine called Insulin was created. This prevented people with diabetes to live longer, decreasing the European death toll.
In Asia, lots of people where getting infections from building the Great Wall of china. They were dying until they created an antibiotic to use that's cheap.
In Australia, lots of people were dying from venom from wild reptiles and spiders. Finally they made an ointment to save their lives.
In Africa, lots of people were dying of malaria. Finally they made a medicine to save their lives from these mosquitos.
