  • Its the most common mental illness in the U.S.
  • Affects 40 million
  • All ages
  • More common for women

CAUSES

  • Stress
  • Alcohol and wine and caffeine
  • Personality
  • Genetics

WHAT DOES IT AFFECT

  • Heart beat
  • Can interfere with ability to fight off bacteria
  • High blood pressure
  • Headaches
  • Muscle tension
  • Insomnia
  • Emotional and social withdrawal

SYMPTOMS

  • Excessive worry
  • Sleep problems
  • Irrational fears
  • Muscle tension
  • Stage fright
  • Self-consciousness
  • Panic attacks
  • Flashbacks
