Happy Hawai'in Ice wish to give unparalleled customer satisfaction and experience. With presentation and sales experience, we plan on moving in a market that has a huge potential, especially in the environment that the business will exist in. We are projecting a few hundred dollar in sales, with around $50 for expenses.
Happy Hawai'in Ice were formed at the beginning of the semester by Kevin and Donavon. Later, Everett, Xavier and Tanner joined. This company is a partership. Kevin and Donavon both had extensive experience with sales and presentations, so the skill sets were brought together. Kevin was in DECA, and both participated in the marketing side of Robotics club.
Our market would include anyone at Legend High School. This would be around 2,200. When including teachers, other staff, and students. The Market trends tend to say that we would have a very popular product on our hands.
Assuming that the same percentage of people who we see have the same willingness as our market research, 89% of people would be willing to buy our product. This translates to 1,335 people our of a projected 1,500. This would then translate to $2,002 if every one of those people bought a shaved ice for the optimal price of $1.50.
The demand here is pretty high. We largely went to underclassmen so these results can be expected to hold with the sophomores and freshman especially. These are the students at legend who have shown the most willingness to buy products from school based projects and are more likely to come prepared to buy. Boys are especially likely to buy on impulse and are likely to buy more often.
Customers in this case will most likely care most for us about price and the speed. They are only there for a limited time and they still need to eat the shaved ice. Thus, speed is a very important aspect. Our hope also is that the weather fares well for us so that it is warm outside. The chances are good that this will happen and this may have an impact on how many people will find the product a good investment.
Happy Hawai'in shaved ice does not have any direct competitors due to the rules that were set up to begin. There could not be two different groups with the same product, so we do not have any direct competitions.
Our indirect competitors are all the different groups that will also be participating in the Titan Mall. Specifically, the other groups that will be providing a food or refreshment service will be the most dangerous to our sales. Possible strengths they might have over us is the fact that they are not dealing with ice, which means they can prep what is going on before the mall. They also may not need to bring any extra machines, like we do.
Our biggest advantage is that our product is very timely. It is towards the time of year where it starts to get hot and people want to be refreshed. Shaved ice plays right into that demographic that will be a huge part in how well we do in sales. Another advantage is that our prep is not very hard. Once we have bought all of the materials, we can just set up and go. We aren't relying on doing a whole lot of at-home work with our project, which means speed is something that we have on our side.
Our product is going to be Hawai'in shaved ice. This will come with the most popular flavors including berry, tigers blood, mango and more. There will be two different sizes that people may purchase as well.
Each bowl of shaved ice will be $1.00-$2.00 depending on the size purchased. This should be one of the cheaper items that is out at the titan mall, meaning we have a good niche on the people who only have a buck or two. However, being in no direct competition this also means that we are the premier brand and will act as such, giving people what they requested on the answer forms.
The main promotion that we will have is by helping advertise for the Titan Mall. We feel that just getting people out to the mall will be a good exposure for our product. But, we will hopefully also get an advertisement on the school announcements and may put up some print advertisements throughout the school to get people ready for the mall.
The only type of distribution at this point will be through the Titan Mall. With our product, being ice, there isn't a whole lot of wiggle room on this since we can't exactly move ice around without it melting.
