STEPS

  • First, gather your materials. (3 brands of tennis balls, meter stick).
  • Second, set up the meter stick so it stands up. (Or have someone hold it for you)
  • Third, drop the balls all from an equal height. (I did 92 cm.)
  • Record data after 3 drops for each brand.

The brands:
Penn, ($2.77) Athletic Works, ($1.52) and Dunlop ($1.88).

My hypothesis:
If the ball costs more, it will bounce higher.

The results:

WAS MY HYPOTHESIS CORRECT?

NO. THE CHEAPEST ONE BOUNCED THE HIGHEST.

WHAT COULD I HAVE DONE DIFFERENTLY?

I COULD HAVE USED A DIFFERENT SURFACE TO BOUNCE THEM ON.
