PRESENTATION OUTLINE

LINEAR

  • A relationship between two variables that has a constant rate of change. The dependent variable (y) increases/decreases by the same amount every time the independent variable (x) increases by one.

PROPORTIONAL

  • A special type of linear relationship that always starts at (0,0).

INDEPENDENT VARIABLE

  • A variable that does not depend on another and influences the dependent variable.

DEPENDENT VARIABLE

  • Depends on the independent variable.
