The three scientists who contributed in the periodic table:
Antoine Lavoisier
He contributed by grouping the elements based on their properties into gasses, non-metals, metals and earths.

Johann Wolfgang Döbereiner
He contributed by recognising triads of elements with chemically similar properties, such as lithium, sodium and potassium, and showed that the properties of the middle element could be predicted from the properties of the other two.

John Newlands
He contributed by putting forward his law of octaves in 1864 in which he arranged all the elements known at the time into a table in order of relative atomic mass. When he did this, he found that each element was similar to the element eight places further on.

5 elements with different symbols:
1. Iron-Fe
2. Silver-Ag
3. Tin-Sn
4. Antimony-Sb
5. Tungsten-W

Where the symbols are originated from:
Iron- Fe is derived from the Latin ferrum for “firmness”.
Silver- Ag comes from the Latin word “argentum” meaning silver.
Tin- Sn is derived from Latin stannum for alloys containing lead.
Antimony- Sb comes from the element’s historical name, Stibium.
Tungsten- W comes from its earlier, Germanic name, Wolfram.
