• Wasn't meant for punishment but for spiritual reflection

• John haviland
• 1821
• 1829
• Closed its doors in 1970
• Used the auburn style of prison

LEGACY

• Noted as the first true penitentiary
• 2nd oldest Jail in the U.S.
• Ben Franklin and Ben rush

TODAY

• No longer in use
• During the month of October used as a haunted house
• You can still go on tours during the week
• Believed to be haunted

• Chicago's most famous mob boss
• Spent 8 months in east penn
• His time spent there was in luxury

HAUNTED PRINSON

• One of the most haunted places in the united states
