PRESENTATION OUTLINE
1.
INTERPHASE
G1- cell growth
S- DNA replication
G2- preperation for mitosis
2.
PROPHASE
Chromosomes become visible
Nuclear membrane disintegrate
Spindle apparatus begins to form between poles
3.
METAPHASE
Chromosomes line up in the middle of the cell
The nucleus breaks down
The centrosome duplicates and the mitotic spindle form
4.
ANAPHASE
Sister chromatids now become individual chromosomes
5.
TELOPHASE
Chromosomes begin to unwind and become chromatins again
Nuclear membrane and nucleolus refroms
Spindles and asters break apart
6.
Cytokinesis in plant cells occur with the formation of a cell plate that splits the cell into two daughter cells. This is different from animal cells where a cleavage furrow is formed to separate the cell into two.
