Physical adaptations

  • Sunfish have a clavus that reaches to there Dorsal fin and to the end of there anal fin to help them swim.
  • From the top of the water, due to there very tall Dorsal fin sunfish are sometimes mistaken as Sharks, which gives them a benefit of defense.

Behavior Adaptations

  • Sunfish like to dive along the thermocline to avoid predators
  • They also drift along the surface of the water on it's side to keep warm after being in colder climates.

This is a world map of where a Sunfish lives.

The sunfish is a very solitary organism. But it does obviously interact with the organisms they eat, which is mostly jellyfish.

Sunfishes most sever threat is fisheries, In some areas they are 90% of the total catch.

But in a lot of areas they

luckily don't intend to hurt them.

Thank you for watching!

I hope you enjoyed and learned something new!
