DOGGOS
- Go to doggos
- Ask if he has any baby quakers
- Get the bird
- Be happy
You’ve never had a baby bird! Do you know what to have and do?
I WILL...
- Already have a space empty in my closet
- Already have bird food, mini cage, all set up...
- The advanced training skills from sienna
CLOSET? WHY?
- It’s cold in my room
- It’s the perfect space because it’s next to me(easy access)
- When it’s sleep time it’s dark
- There’s space for everything it needs in there
MINI CAGE? WHY?
- The bird won’t be able to walk or climb so it can’t just be at the bottom of a huge cage.
- Sienna will lend me avocados mini carry cage and a bigger cage later on
Untitled Slide
- A baby bird cannot stay in the bottom of a cage because it could climb and fall (it will die)
- No heat pads (heat lamps or office desk lamps are ok)
THE BIRD WILL HAVE 3 CAGES
- Avocados carry cage
- Mini cage sienna has that she could lend me
- Kiwi and mangos cage(final)
Yes, that means kiwi and mango have to be gone by then :(
We can take them to Robert is here! They will make new friends.
(We have to call first)
So now that you know what will be prepared...
Let’s talk BABY BIRD
BABY BIRDS
- They are suuuper sensitive
- Cannot be too hot or cold
- They get fed food by syringe every 2-3 hours or 4-5 hours depending on the age.
BABY BIRDS
- When it’s time to sleep there needs to be NO NOISE
- the food cannot be too hot or too cold/ too liquidy or too chunky
BABY BIRDS
- they require a lot of attention
- can not be left in a open unattended space.
- They could die if they experience loud noise
BABY BIRDS
- For the first week NOBODY TOUCHES THE BIRD BUT ME(sometimes mom)
- They also make noise and call if they are hungry
- You cannot pick them up out of their cage in the first couple of days.
THINGS YOU WON’T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT
THE CATS
- Meworm has not set foot in my room ever since tiki got here and I can keep him out if I need to.
- The bird would be in the closet so meworm couldn’t get up there if he wanted to
- The closet door wouldn’t be wide open either
IT’S TOO COLD
- The bird will be in the closet where no air hits it
- It can be covered with a little towel to be warm
- The closet doors block air too
- I could open a window
IT’S TOO HOT
- My room is pretty cold so that’s not likely
- If it gets a little too warm I could just open my closet doors to let air in
WOULD TIKI GET JEALOUS?
- No he will not because I play with avocado and tiki is fine.
- Tiki just would want to play with the bird.
By now you should know things about baby birds what I will do in certain situations and what I will need to have
SOME IMPORTANT THINGS
- I would be waking up early for the first 2 weeks
- I need to get the bird when summer starts so by the time school starts it will be big enough to be like how tiki is now.
- Having it during the summer is a good idea because there’s no school to worry about and I will have nowhere to go or do since we’re in quarantine
WHY THIS BIRD?
- Quakers are easy birds(low maintenance
- They can make noises and say some words
- Super nice (you met avocado)
- They cost around $150-$200
- They are little but bigger than tiki (not a humongous peaches)
