There are three scrutinies. They're liturgical rites celebrated on the third, fourth, and fifth Sundays of Lent.

These rites help the elect to self-examine and repent, and heal any weakness or sin, spiritually, in the elects. It takes place right after the homily.

The Creed and Lord's Prayer represent the auditory passing-on of the faith. The Church asks the elect to live them, not just learn them.
