What is it?
A thunderstorm is a Storm with thunder and lighting

What does it look like?
A thunderstorm looks like a big dark cloud.

if you have moisture, unstable air, and lift a thunderstorm will form

How large is the storm?
a thunderstorm is 10 miles diameter

What is it?
A hurricane is a type of tropical cyclone that forms in the tropics

What does it look like?
A hurricane looks like a great big mass of air that spins around in a circle

How does it form?
Hurricanes form when warm humid air rises from the ocean.

How large is the storm?
Category 1- Winds 39-73 mph Waves are 4-5 feet above normal
Category 2- Winds from 96-110 mph, waves are
6-8 feet above normal
Category 3- Winds from 111-130 mph waves are 9-12 feet above normal
category 4- winds from 131-155 and waves are 13-18 feet above normal
category 5- winds greater than 155 mph waves are 18 feet above normal.

How damaging is the storm
Category 1- Damage to trees
category 2- damage to trees ,signs and mobile homes
category 3- damage to trees, mobile homes, and poorly constructed signs
category 4- Complete destruction of mobile homes damage to doors and windows.
category 5- all shrubs and trees blown down complete destruction of mobile homes. extreme damage to doors and windows
