COMPRESSABLE

Able to be compressed

MELTING

To become, or being in the process of becoming, liquified by warmth

FREEZING

To become, or being in the process of becoming, solidified by cooling

EVAPORATION

A liquid turning into vapor (Gas)

CONDENSATION

A process in which water vapor from the air becomes a liquid, usually on a cool surface

SUBLIMATION

A solid turning directly into a gas

PHYSICAL CHANGE

A change of an object where no new substance is found

CHEMICAL CHANGE

A change of an object’s chemical composition, making a new substance

PRECIPITATE

A solid formed out of two or more liquids

PURE SUBSTANCE

A material made up of one atom, molecule, or compound

MIXTURE

A substance made up of two or more materials that can be separated using physical methods

Homogeneous Mixture

A substance that has the same proportions of materials no matter the sample size

Heterogeneous Mixture

A substance that has uneven materials no matter the sample size

FILTRATION

A WAY OF SEPARATING MIXTURES BY HAVING A MEDIUM THAT ONLY LETS THE LIQUID PASS

Chromatography

A process used to separate mixtures, mainly dyes
