No Description

PRESENTATION OUTLINE

Bleeds & Fractures

With little to no equipment

Bleeding

  • Stop it, but don’t make it worse!
  • Direct Pressure with bulky, absorbents.
  • Gravity is your friend.
  • Clean - running tap water.

Fractures

  • Open vs closed
  • Deformed, heard a break, bone ends, loss of use
  • Reduce movement by restricting the joint above and below fracture - use body.
  • Keep warm - wrap like a burrito

A friend has fallen from their longboard. It looks like they tried to use their hand to break their fall. Their wrist is sore, swollen, they can’t use it. What do you do?

Your sibling has their bindings cranked really tight for a scary run. One mogul lead to a lot of air and a fall. Their skis didn’t release. One lower leg doesn’t look right, bent where it shouldn’t, and hurts
a lot. What do you do?

It’s summer and you’re playing mumbly-peg with a friend. As luck would have it, you have a decent wound in the top of your foot (playing in sandals). What do you do?
