Thesis

  • I believe that parents do have higher hopes and standards for their sons than their daughters because parents expect their sons to be smart, gifted, funny, playful, and loving.

COUNTER-CLAM 1

  • Girls have consistently shown they have larger vocabularies and use more complex sentences.

CLAM 2

  • Boys are known to be funny, playful, and loving, while on the other hand girls are known to be argumentative, and serious.

COUNTER-CLAM 2

  • Yet some say that their girls are loving and their boys are serious. Studies show that girls are more sensitive and loving than boys.

conclusion

  • In conclusion, my opinion is that parents need to stop saying and thinking one kid is better, smarter, or skinnier than one another. Parents push their kids to be perfect, when they should really be asking themselves and their kids what they want and how they feel. Parents should step back, take a breath and let their kids be what they want to be and who they want to be.

While sexism hurts women most immediately, it also damages men severely.
