PRESENTATION OUTLINE

Erosion and Weather

and how we can prevent

Erosion
Erosion is when weather and ice takes away little pieces of rocks and soil.

Weathering
Weathering is when it breaks up rocks into little pieces.

There are two types of weathering
Chemical and Mechanical
weathering.

What is Chemical Weathering?
Chemical Weathering is when chemicals erode rocks, some chemicals are Oxygen, Carbon Dioxide and Acid

Mechanical weathering is the process when big rocks break into little ones. Some of the things that breaks the rocks are plant roots, ice and forest fires.

Threats to the Earth

  • Plant roots
  • Wind
  • Water
  • Global warming
  • Humans
  • Overgrazing

How Can We Prevent Erosion

  • Plant plants (preferably trees since their stronger)
  • Plant the crops in a cycle so the previous can heal
  • Don't ride cars as much (as they release harmful gases and melts the glaciers)
