What is vaping?

  • Vaping is the use of e-cigarettes
  • E-cigarettes (e-cigs) contain nicotine & tetrahydrocannabinol, an active ingredient
  • Shown to be a major cause in lung injury
  • One of many types of malicious drugs

*The nicotine in one e-cig is equivalent to 60 traditional cigarettes.

  • Amphetamines (Meth, Ice, Crystal Meth, Shards, Speed, Dexies)
  • Cannabis (Mull, Pot, Dope, Weed, Gunja, Marijuana)

  • Heroin (Hammer, H, Smack, Horse, Gear, Dope, Harry)

Short-Term Effects of Vaping

  • Increased alertness & concentration
  • Feelings of mild euphoria & relaxation
  • Increased blood pressure & heart rate
  • Decreased blood flow to fingers and toes

Long-Term Consequences of Vaping

  • Highly likely to cause addiction
  • Lowered reaction times
  • Mood disorders
  • Higher risk of emphysema (causes shortness of breath)
