PURPOSE
- How can K-12 school principals promoted technology use to assist with the transformation of their schools during the school renewal process.
- With an example from Bloomingdale P.S.s
A U.S. Dept of Education’s Learning-Centered Leadership Development Principal Training grant project (LCLDP) at Western Michigan University
The purpose of LCLDP is to improve school leadership that impacts the educational performance of students by focusing on the seven dimensions of school leadership associated with student achievement.
7 Dimensions of School Leadership
- (a) data-informed decision-making,
(b) safe and orderly school operation,
(c) high, cohesive and culturally-relevant expectations for all students,
(d) distributive and empowering leadership,

(f) real-time and embedded instructional assessment, and
(g) passion and commitment for school renewal.

Currently, Bloomingdale Middle and High School serves 630 students in grades 6-12 and has a 31% minority student enrollment in rural S.W. MI
FROM "WORST TO FIRST"
- In 2010 "Persistently Low Achieving School" - 7th percentile
- In 2012 and 2013 "Reward School" - in top 5 percent of MI schools that improved student achievement.
