Keep It Simple

  • One Formation
  • One Series
  • Three Plays
The most basic offenses in football, typically in youth football, can be as simple as having one formation and one series which includes three plays. Typically, those three plays include a run, a pass, and a counter or misdirection play.

100 Formation

In the wing t formation, one of the base formations is called 100. The 100 formation refers to the alignment of having a split end on the left side of the formation, a half-back 4 yards behind the left tackle, a fullback 4 yards behind the quarterback, a tight end on the right side of the line of scrimmage, a wing back located just wider than the tight end and off the line of scrimmage.

Easier to Run

Three Things Can Happen When Throwing the Football: Two are Bad!
Lastly, if you are new to football, stick to the ground game. Yards are a bit easier to come by and a good rushing attack will setup a good passing attack!
