Newtons First Law

  • Newtons first law is when an object that is moving or non-moving stays in its position until acted on by an unbalanced force

Vocabulary

Force - a strength or energy as an attribute of physical action or movement

friction - the resistance that one surface or object encounters when moving over another

weight - A bodys relative mass or the quantity of matter contained by it, giving rise to a downward force; the heaviness of a person, place or thing.

net force - The sum of all forces acting on an object

mass - the quantity of matter in a body regardless of its volume or of any forces acting on it.

support force - exerted upon an object that is in contact with another stable object.
