We are the Independent pet party

IDEA

TO SET UP A LITTLE FARM AND PETTING ZOO WHERE THE GATED EXERCISE EQUIPMENT IS LOCATED

The point of this activity is so the kids can learn to be more responsible by playing, feeding, grooming etc the animals.
We are planning to build a little farm.

Materials we will need

  • All the supplies are free and Julia’s dad volunteered to pick everything up with his truck and trailer.
  • We found a large shed for free in North Van on craigslist which will keep our guinea pigs and bunnies in.
  • We found a small shed for free to keep the chickens and ducks in.
  • We also found a sink and faucet so kids can wash their hands

  • on craigslist,we found a free guinea pig cage with all the supplies.
  • A free kids pool with a slide will be used for our ducks to swim in.

ANIMALS

  • Pet duck trio found on craigslist for $50
  • One year old organic raised chickens 3 for $24
  • Baby bunnies 2 for $25
  • 4 guinea pigs for free on craigslist
  • Total cost for the animals is $99

FOOD and COMFORT

  • Ducks will eat bugs and weeds
  • For the chickens, the children of SAS can bring oats, lettuce, food scraps
  • For the bunnies, each house team can bring lettuce, banana, celery carrots, pellets and hay.
  • For the guinea pigs, they will eat hay, fruit and vegetables and guinea pig food which will cost $18 for a large 5 pound bag.
  • We will use recycled containers for food and water

The budget was $200 and we spent only $122 with the remaining $78 dollars we will spend the money on supplies needed
