THE HUSKY THE CHOSEN ONE

  • I decided to choose the husky for my dog in the iditarod contest.

The Chosen One

I chose the husky to be the dog for the iditiarod because of several factors. This type of dog is a medium sized working dog that possesses power and strength. I feel that they are remarkable and they have the ability to learn quickly. They preform at a very high rate during the race.

Sled dogs also have to have very tough feet. In some cases the racers may put booties or mittens on the dog's feet due to the cold condition. However the booties may slow the dogs down, but they are there to protect the dog's feet.

The dogs also have to be intellagent in order to pull the basket. The lead dog which is the dog out front helps to maintain order so.that the dogs are able to understand the command given by the musher . The remaining dogs have to follow the actions of the lead dog. The other dogs help maintain the speed of the basket.
