• 1080 is a better and faster way to kill all of the pests.
• 1080 gives a triple predator hit as well so if a rat dies of 1080 a stoats comes and eats the rat and the stoats can die as well, because of the 1080 that is still in the rat.
• The native trees and plants grow better because there are less possums to eat them.
• Native birds are in creasing in population.

black hat

• 1080 kills other animals as well like dogs and cats and other pets.
• 1080 can get in our water supply.
• 1080 can make animals die painfully .
• 1080 doesn't break down in bodies, so there is a higher risk of secondary poisoning.
• There is no antidotes so if someone eats it there is no way of surviving.

RED HAT

• I think 1080 is good because it kills many pests such as possums, stoats and rats. Thousands of pests from around New Zealand have been killed and this is good because it means that our native birds and native trees and bush are safe.
