Chinese New Year

  • It is the longest festival for the Chinese.
  • A popular treat is a candied Apple on a stick.
  • They are celebrated for 15 days, and kids get a month off of school.
  • It is celebrated in early February.

LANTERN FESTIVAL

  • It is know as the "first night festival"
  • Ball dumplings in soup is a common food.
  • They are celebrated by making/releasing lanterns.
  • It is celebrated in the late February and early March time.

QINGMING FESTIVAL

  • It is also known as the tomb sweeping festival
  • It is celebrated by worshipping ancestors.
  • Sweet green rice balls are eaten.
  • It is celebrated on April 4th or 5th.

DRAGON BOAT FESTIVAL

  • Takes place on the fifth month and the fifth day of the lunar calendar.
  • It Celebrates a poet named Qu Yuan.
  • People eat rice and dumplings. mostly for the festival

  • People celebrate it by eating laba porridge.
  • The foods eaten are many types of porridge.
