TRANSITION METALS

LOCATION

Iron, cobalt, and nickel are transition metals. Transition metals are found in group 3-12 on the periodic table.

CHARACTERISTICS

Transition metals are both ductile and malleable, which means it can be stretched into a thing wire and can be hammered or bent into different shapes without it breaking or cracking.

They also conduct electricity and heat. To add, they have a very high melting point and are solids at room temperature. They are hard and tough.

ELEMENTS IN GROUP

A few examples of elements in the group transition metals are titanium, zinc, and mercury.
