• Service of IB and requirement of all IB World Schools
• Assesses a school's growth
• Supports school's efforts to continually improve
• Results in clear plan for next steps/actions
• Can result in improved teaching and learning

Self-Study

• Detailed, thorough reflection by all members of learning community
• Focuses on programme implementation
• Reflect upon and gather evidence in support of each practice
• Provides an opportunity for honest reflection
• Identifies strengths/areas of need

Function

Self-Study/Evaluation

• Schools complete a self-study questionnaire and rate their implementation.
• Schools gather evidence to support their assessment and submit all documents to IB by June 1.
• IB educators trained for this role will read all of the evidence submitted.

Self-Study/Evaluation (cont)

• An IB team of educators will come to comfirm information in self-study/documents in Fall of 2020.
• A report is created by IB and commendations, recommendations, and matters to be addressed will be identified.
• An action plan will be created/used for the next four years...repeats!

What is our responsibility throughout the process?

Self-Study/Evaluation

• All members of the school community collectively assess and provide evidence of implementation of IB PYP Standards and practices.
• A full year is devoted to the process to allow for a thorough analyis and reflection of the programme.
